They are obviously not listening to there loyal users and quite clearly avoiding the option to delete playlists for whatever reasons... Probably for pure profit reasons? - How about a different approach to solve this problem?

The more you choose your favourite category's plus the more you get them right equals the more you get given those category's as an option for your reward?

That way the better you do doing what you enjoy best the better your options will be and end up getting? That way the ones you dislike should end up never appearing an disappear into the background only if you do purchase enough category's to be able to do that?

This way both parties win and everyone could continue playing this truly enjoying and simple but very addictive game?

    Any thoughts???

Has anyone been able to figure out a way to communicate with the ( chicken) developers? This game has lost it's allure due to the fact that we can't always select the genre we paid for and would prefer to play. Everyone has different tastes- that's what makes the game challenging. We choose playlist according to our individual tastes, and we play against others according to their tastes. Unfortunately our choices are ( purposefully) hidden from us so that we must use powerups ( as in money) to get to those choices, and wow do those powerups disappear fast! I have bought songlists that, upon actually playing them I found out that I didn't like them for one reason or another. Poor remakes and remixes are two that come to mind. Since we've paid for them, why can't we delete them? It's our loss, not the developers. And the junk that they stick in our list when we're not looking, garbage that otherwise would never be chosen, at least by me! So now, if we have such a cluttered list of choices that we feel like it's a chore to play instead of a pleasure, WHAT is so difficult about giving us a choice to "clean it up"? Everyone knows it's possible, and probably a very simple update. I promise I won't cry foul if I delete a songlist and regret it later ( won't happen). I have something like 20 playlists, 5 of which I play regularly, 4 which I would play if they ever showed up, and 11 which I would like to junk. Let's all out on our thinking caps a figure out a way to get the attention of these greedy developers, such consideration that we are due, according to Apple Itunes and common business courtesy.

Pulleeeze add a delete button so I can delete the playlists on my page that I don't want. I hate that they sometimes take up 2 choices when I only have 3 choices to begin with. It ruins the ability to pick a playlist that you know the other player is weak at. Hence screwing up my scores. It's OUR playlist. Why can't WE manage it?

If they turn this into an option that only VIP people have, I will completely quit playing this game.

I saw on my playlists that SongPop claims I bought, but I didn't - Modern Rap. I personally having nothing against this genre, though it's not my cup of tea. Is it possible someone could've hacked into my account? I want to delete this playlist but SongPop doesn't seem to let me. :(

Christine: Modern Rap is one of the playlists you are given when you start the game.  You never purchased that one.  However, it's yet another example of why I'd love to be able to disable some playlists that are in my catalog.  I'm up to 48 playlists (and love most of them), but would love to get rid of the junk I bought like "National Anthems", "Haunting Songs", and "Christmas Tunes".  Would also be nice to get rid of the genres that weren't what I thought, like "Classic Folk Rock" and "Heavy Metal".

I would have NEVER bought a playlist called "ROAD TRIP MUSIC" but i did bought it when it came because you named it first "DRIVING SONGS". and then wtf? it's road trip music. and I HATE IT. so please give us an option of selling or deleting playlists ASAP.

It's part of the game - the idea is to get and master as many different play lists as you can - not to only play the ones you're good at?

John, I'm happy that you're happy, but I find rap to be disgusting an I do not chose it-ever! The point is not to become proficient in all genres- the point is to have fun playing a game. No one can force us to listen to and learn something that we find objectionable. Since the developers won't allow us to erase songlists that we don't want to play, I just ignore them, and I stopped spending money to buy powerups to get around them, which is the whole point of not letting us erase them. If I don't know the music I just lose the game-- no big deal. If someone challenges me to a songlist I'm not familiar with, I either take my best guess, or if it's that music composed of foul words and misogyny, I just click ANY choice as fast as possible, so I don't have to listen to it. Surprisingly, I have won several games using this tactic!

This answers a lot of questions for me especially the one about the Rap.  I won't say Rap MUSIC as it is anything BUT music.  I have it on my play list and could not remember purchasing it.  I thought I was getting senile but I know I would never intentionally buy such crap.  I agree with all the comments on this forum.  I surely wish they could solve this problem.  Also I have another thing botering me...this morning I had a player quit and he sent me a message stating "why did you cheat? now you're history."  I have racked my brain all day to try to understand his comment.  He can't be called a sore loser as he was beating me 6-2 at that point.  I am not aware of a way to cheat.  Either you know the song or you don't and you're either fast at selecting it or you're not.  How can anything be interpreted as cheating?  I would NOT cheat even if there was a way.  I love a challenge and losing is all in the game; all part of it.   I do hate it, though, when I know the correct answer, am looking right at it and then click on the wrong one.  That makes me so mad at myself.    I have been accused of cheating at anything and that comment surely ruined my day.  I could send a reply to ask what he meant as he had ended the game.

I didn't ask for Rap, I don't like Rap, and I don't want it on my 'purchased' playlists. Same goes for Today's Hits. I don't want it.
Allow a way to get rid of playlists we didn't ask for, or bought in error.

Just wondering what some of your comments would be on some of the very explicit lyrics that have made their way into SongPop recently (e.g "F*** You!" being screamed at the beginning of the clip.)
The inclusion of this type of lyric clearly violates Apples terms on the part of the developer...the developer rated this game as 12+ (which includes 'mild profanity'). Now I don't know where you grew up, but F*** You was never considered mild profanity anywhere in my neighbourhood.

I brought up this issue with the developer (issue #43383) and they basically said that nothing could be done, short of creating a new version of SongPop! I say that's a pack of lies! How about just removing the offending songs!!??

We do need a sample of the playlist we are going to purchase, that is a very prudent thing to do.If not that, than a delete button that i am sure most players will NOT abuse. I adore songpop. hell I wanna work for SongPop, but now I only have a VIP Pass which is great, I love it ! I want to learn new genres f songs, I don't want the same stuff over and over. This last one I purchased really Stinks to High Heaven.. Purchased it today and when ir came on I said WTH did I do, what am I stuck with. Please help, all the players are here for the music because we love it, it's our thing, and of course a litle friendy competition.Everyone is so nice. Give us a break and at least try it. Thanks for listening. Much Appreciated, Wannie a SongPopaholic !!!     :)

sent the following... hoping for a response:

    hello songpop,

i just want to voice my frustration with something you've probably gotten many times before. i don't think that it's fair that in the past i bought playlists having no way of knowing what was on them, and now that i know i don't like them i can't remove them. there was a discussion about this on a forum for songpop with many other annoyed players, but nobody seemed to be answered and months later no delete option has been added. it's a lot less fun playing when you only have 3 playlist options per game and at least one playlist each time is something like modern rap and 80s (playlists we were all given as a default that i never would have purchased myself) and then at least one other playlist is one purchased that didn't turn out to be what we thought. if it's about money, i think it's obvious that many would be willing to purchase a delete for a playlist. we're the players! we support you and keep you going-- give us a little more freedom! i feel like every time someone has told me that they messaged you guys about this, the response was that you were working on it but nothing has been done. i just think you guys could really benefit from adding this option because i know i'd be willing to pay double what i paid for some playlists just to have them deleted.

    Dear Freshplanet,

The inability to remove or quarantine playlists is starting to get really annoying. You've been releasing 3 playlists a week since you launched and if you haven't notice, there are a lot of playlists now.

It means that it is taking a lot, lot longer to reach 5-star.

For some of us, it means that we're holding off on buying any new playlists until we get to 5-star on some of our older ones.

That's right, it's losing you money.

Hope to see an update that addresses this soon.

    Thanks!

People ask questions of the developer. The developer remains quiet. Typical of these kinds of forums. SongPop put up these forums to give their customers a sense that the developer is listening, but they never reply.
    Sad, but true.
